Welcome one, Welcome all to Solkenphotography! I'm a one man team, everything I've learned has been self taught or learned through a lot of trial and error. From breaking old habits and developing new skills. As you look through my work I'm sure you will find something to dazzle your mind.
Starting out I purchased my first camera just to snag dope shots of me skating, but then as I used it more I started to learn the basics and that was enough to open my mind to a lot more, It pushed me over the edge to develop my own uniqueness. The thing I always strived for since the start of me holding my first camera was color and clarity, That was the start of my art form, business, hobby, and the rest of my life. Learning that with every skill I add to my belt would only improve everything I had to offer to clients and extend my reach there was nowhere for me to go but up.
The city I grew up in was crowded in terms of a lot of people doing the same thing the ones that was already established had a huge leg up in city where people aren't used to breaking their norm. So using it to build my portfolio and my skill set it survived its purpose and served it well. With what I had learned I felt I could now do all the things my peers could do and then some, Growing like sponge absorbing water with everything I was teaching myself and absorbing all the information necessary around me, I felt my potential was to excessive to keep bottled there. I take great pride in my work along with all the skills I've learned along the way.
From the start I never wanted to be lumped into a category which is why, starting out I made sure to find a interest in every avenue to be a generalist of photography, give me a idea I'll help you bring it to life, and any vision I see I'm going to capture. From weddings, family portraits, model portfolio building, editorial portraits, creative portraits and skin retouching all in one. All that in one place!
